Actief Hartmanns assists AWA Denmark in recruiting an experienced Patent Attorney for their Pharma and Bio/Life Science team, a focus area due to rapid industry growth in Denmark and southern Sweden.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory

• Understand clients’ businesses
• Identify new IP possibilities
• Match business development with securing IP rights

IP Rights Protection

• Assess patentability of new inventions
• Make recommendations for patenting
• Draft and prosecute patent applications

Market Freedom Analysis

• Conduct patent searches
• Monitor existing patents
• Identify potential infringements or licensing opportunities

Additional Services

• Offer advice on licensing and IP due diligence
• Assist with patent enforcement and disputes
• Handle opposition proceedings before EPO and UPC

Candidate Requirements

Educational Background

• Ph.D. or master’s degree in:
• Molecular/cellular biology
• Human biology
• Related fields
• EQE qualification or willingness to pursue it

Professional Experience

• Minimum 4-5 years working with IP-related matters
• Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications
• In-house or private practice background

Industry Knowledge

• Good understanding of Bio/Life Science sector
• Familiarity with regulatory challenges and milestones
