Trainee Patent Attorney Position at NLO

Job Overview

Daily Responsibilities

• Grow into an independent consultant for innovative organizations
• Work under supervision of experienced patent attorneys
• Attend patent attorney training course
• Advise clients on intellectual property
• Support patent portfolio management and development
• Participate in all aspects from patent application to defense

Training and Education

Official Professional Training

• Three-year course sponsored by NLO
• One day per week
• Learn patent application writing, grant procedures, and administrative aspects

• Topics: patents, trademarks, legal skills, client relations, soft skills
• Expert-led courses by NLO colleagues
• Networking with new colleagues from various NLO offices

Candidate Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Materialscience or Metallurgy
• Interest in diverse technical issues
• Client interaction and advisory skills
• Solution-oriented mindset
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Dutch language proficiency is a plus
